A dog are no...
Thank you Kelly för your wise words.

A dog are not allowed to hurt you, WAY should you, as a human, be allowed to hurt them???
That doesn't make sence to me at all!

Many hugs!
/P
Gårdsbackenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00173588955754144783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439753304970372406.post-63788517057880331622013-03-06T01:16:06.562+01:002013-03-06T01:16:06.562+01:00I also say, nej, Paula!
Although I don't kno...I also say, nej, Paula!

Although I don't know anything about dog training beyond the basics, I do know that border collies remember how they are treated, and respond accordingly. If they are treated kindly, they remember that. If they are treated harshly, they remember that. For example, it took so long for Matty to not be scared by even an annoyed tone of voice. Around here, "Kitty! Get off table!" is as bad as it gets, but even now he slinks away at that, having been so mistreated before he was rescued. Also, Patch and Data were badly frightened by a really naughty little boy when they were pups (he waited behind a bush as we approached on a walk and then jumped out, screaming at the tops of his lungs) and they were afraid of children for several years. It took a great deal of patience and a lot of sweet, well behaved children to teach them otherwise.

So, border collies, who are certainly intelligent and willing enough to learn anything, do not need harsh physical or vocal behavior toward them.

That's my "two cents"!
